Before cars there were horses ... and then horses with wheels (and we are not talking about carriages)!
These friendly playmates, built first in wood and then following the materials of the time such as metal, tin or plastic, have been alongside children since the pre-Roman times.
Also called tatà, a name that originates from the childish expression "taa-ta", and inspired by the sound that the wheels of these toys make when in motion.
In our museum we have lots of horses with wheels, some rideable and others towable thanks to a thread of rope, a real rein for little riders.
