It was the first time we had organized a chess tournament and we didn't know it would be so engaging. We collaborated with the Quattro Torri Association, associated with the Italian Chess Federation, and the tournament was included in the official circuit of the Lazio Region thanks to the enthusiasm of maestro Alessandro Pompa and Leo Camilli.
The idea of the tournament was born in the La Bottega del Vino di Colleferro wine shop, with which we share the passion of wine and horses and which in recent years has also transformed into a chess club.
The fact that one of the fundamental pieces of the chessboard is a horse, and that the Donna Vittori di Paliano farm had to carry out general rehearsals for the definition of the spaces of the future farmhouse, made everything easier.
Our Horse Museum, the Quattro Torri association and the Donna Vittori farmhouse have come together to create an unforgettable day.
The tournament started at 11 in the morning and ended late in the afternoon but, during breaks and lunch, the players made themselves available to play with the other guests.

A special thanks goes to Alessio Folli, a young boy from Anagni who spent all his time teaching and entertaining a group of children. Watching these children literally kidnapped by the game of chess as they played on a giant chess board in the garden was a real pleasure.
The visit to the museum was then a success that crowned the day.
For the award ceremony we had a special wine label created and the tournament was won by Alessandro Stirpe di Veroli. The delivery of the prizes was made by our president Maria Vittori, by maestro Alessandro Pompa and by Mario Bettiol Furlan who was the soul of the event and took care of bringing children closer to the game of chess.
